Mati Temple combines grottoes, mountain landscape and Yugur cultural context, but it needs a substantial road journey. Binggou Danxia offers different sculptural landforms. Neither should be attached casually to a late departure. Pick one according to season and interests, or use the second day for the city and an unhurried transfer.
Silk Road distances need the right vehicle
A private vehicle connects airport or station, hotel, Danxia entrance and a second day site without uncertain local handoffs. An MPV is valuable for families and camera equipment. Roads can be long and dry, so carry water and sun protection. Share the onward train or flight early enough to preserve a real buffer after the scenic area.
