Day 1: arrive gently and begin on Shamian Island
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is far enough from the center that arrival planning matters. Send the correct terminal, flight number, passenger count and luggage before pickup. If you are carrying product samples or several large cases, an MPV is usually more comfortable than a sedan.
Do not schedule the city’s most important museum immediately after a long flight. Check in, eat something simple and begin with Shamian Island. Choose one museum or gallery according to current opening rules and your interests. Do not attempt every building in one morning.

- Near Guangzhou South station: choose this only when an early train or repeated rail travel is the main priority.
